Nice little Wordpress CMS for VictoriaPage.net

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Victoria Page is a personal tutor working in London. She teaches English and Maths to children in the Hammersmith area but also travels widely. She’s taught royalty in the middle east, millionaires in America and is generally principled, kind and lovely.

Her new website is a Wordpress install configured as a CMS rather than a blog. The theme is Mastersuite, an off the shelf Wordpress theme with a few modifications. The site took one day to set up, including content authoring and various issues with the server with a further day of SEO and tinkering to follow.

The site is available at victoriapage.net. Check it out to read some wonderful stories from her travels and to get in touch.

Search Engine Optimisation for legson.com

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

I’m now engaged in Search Engine optimisation for Legs On Footstools, a lovely company making footstools, barstools and other pieces of furniture. Everything is handmade in Gloucester and the lady who owns the company, Carole Farmar is just great.

In this campaign I’ll be predominantly doing off-page optimisation and link building. I’ll also be making some changes to the Apache configuration to standardise around the www domain and prevent duplicate content errors.
